TECHART - Updated Pricelists, Dealer Discounts, and Shipping Cost Policy - October 2024

Dear TECHART Dealers and Resellers,

It has been a busy year with many changes within TECHART, and there are many
more changes to come.

However, one aspect, which had not yet received the same treatment, has been
the communication with our valued dealers such as yourself, but, is one of our
top priorities to change that as well and continuing to evolve in that regard.

On the agenda today, are the updated pricelists, changes to the dealer
discounts, and policy of the shipping costs.

As many of you know, with the launch of our E3.2 Cayenne program, we have
introduced new material groups, which directly affect the discounts which you
receive for any given part.

Now, with the 992.2 Carrera having arrived, these new material groups and
discounts will now also carry over to those offerings as well.

As with the Cayenne, these changes will only affect products that are
carried over and fit the new facelift 992.2 (MY 2025+).

All other products will remain at the existing discount level for now.

If you are unsure about your current discount level, feel free to reach out
to us. We are happy to assist with that and any other questions.

 

New pricelists are now also available, which will help identify which
products have changed material groups and discounts.

To assist with your day-to-day sale of TECHART products, the pricelists for newer models now also include reference shipping
costs, dimensions and weights, cost of painting, and installation time. At this time not all pricelists include all of the above, but
this will continue to be expanded and updated in future versions of the lists.

We hope that this information will give you greater confidence when
interacting with potential clients.

Any feedback is very much welcome.

 

Shipping is always a big topic, as most of our products come from Germany.
The cost to import will always remain, in one way or the other. Our decision to
not include these costs into our retail product prices will remain for now.

 

This has, however, led to some inconsistencies over time relating to
advertised pricing, such as the offering of free shipping, resulting in
confusion for dealers and resellers, and end-customers alike, as well as a
general price erosion of our product prices in the US, specifically in the
online domain.

 

We have therefore implemented a policy change primarily affecting online
retailers, to combat the above and also securing your profitability.

available now, so that you can accurately quote and charge your respective
clients and more importantly, advertise TECHART products in a more accurate

Techart Universal Pricing Policy (UPP)

Effective Date: 2024-10-31

Techart is committed to maintaining a strong brand image, enabling investments in product and marketing, levelling the playing field between dealers and resellers, and ensuring that its products are sold at a fair and consistent price. To this end, Techart has implemented a Unilateral Pricing Policy (UPP). This policy establishes the minimum price at which Techart products may be sold by dealers and resellers.

The UPP applies to all Techart products sold in the United States. The minimum retail price for each product and minimum shipping cost is based on the current USD price lists provided by Techart.

Dealers and resellers who offer Techart products below the minimum price set by Techart may be subject to temporary or permanent suspension of Techart dealership or reseller status.


Policy

Dealers and resellers may not offer Techart products at a price below the retail prices and reference shipping cost in the current USD price lists published by Techart. Those values, together, are the minimum.

The retail prices in the lists are based off Germany ex-works prices. As nearly all Techart products are being imported from Germany, there will always be shipping cost associated with purchasing and selling Techart products, and therefore they must be included. We accept two ways of pricing of individual items:

  1. Retail price, plus full shipping cost from current price lists, or as quoted by Techart. Shown and added separately, before or at checkout.
  2. Retail price, plus minimum 50% of shipping cost from current price lists, or as quoted by Techart, in one single price.

The second way allows to nominally offer free shipping to the customer, while retaining profitability, as shipping gets paid at least partially. This rewards dealers who are ordering multiple parts in larger shipments from Techart, which saves a lot of shipping cost.

Offering items for retail price only, with free shipping, would violate the UPP.

Dealers and resellers may not offer discounts or promotions below minimum price and minimum shipping on Techart products that are not authorized by Techart.

Bundling offers like “wheels with free tires” are deemed a violation, if the sum of the bundled products would violate the UPP.

Website features such as “click for price,” “see price in cart,” “add to cart for best price,” “10% off at checkout”, “call for $50 off”, automated pricing emails, pre-formatted email responses, and automatic price display for any items prior to checkout, and other similar features are considered to be violating the UPP if the resulting price is below the minimum price and minimum shipping.

Dealers and resellers may not sell Techart products through unauthorized channels, such as online marketplaces or auction sites like Amazon or Ebay.


Example

he following example shows how the Techart UPP works:

  1. Techart has a wheel in their USD price list for $1,000, and reference shipping cost of $300.
  2. This means that Techart UPP sets the minimum price for this product at $1,000 plus $300 shipping.
  3. A Techart dealer offers and sells the wheel for $950 plus $300 shipping,
    or for $1,000 with free shipping.
  4. Techart discovers that the dealer is offering the wheels below the minimum price and minimum shipping.
  5. Techart investigates the matter and decides to suspend the dealer's Techart dealership status for the wheels category for 30 days.

Exceptions

Techart may grant exceptions to this UPP on a case-by-case basis. Dealers and resellers who request an exception must submit a written request to Techart North America for approval.

Benefits of the UPP

The Techart UPP provides a number of benefits to both Techart and its dealers and resellers. For Techart, the UPP helps to:

  • Maintain a strong brand image
  • Ensure that products are sold at a fair and consistent price
  • Protect profits, and therefore allows investment in products, branding and marketing

For dealers and resellers, the UPP helps to:

  • Prevent price wars
  • Maintain healthy margins
  • Provide customers with a positive shopping experience

By complying with the Techart UPP, dealers and resellers can help to ensure their own success, and the success of Techart and its products.

Enforcement

Techart will monitor the prices at which its products are sold by dealers and resellers. If Techart discovers that a dealer or reseller is offering its products below the minimum price and minimum shipping, Techart will investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

Additional Notes

Dealers and resellers are encouraged to advertise and sell Techart products at a price above the UPP plus minimum shipping.

Dealers and resellers may offer discounts or promotions on Techart products to their customers, as long as the discounts or promotions do not violate the UPP.

Dealers and resellers may sell Techart products through their own websites and social media channels.

Techart reserves the right to modify this UPP at any time without notice.
